NEW: San Diego Paid Sick Leave

This policy has been drafted to comply with California’s Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act (in addition to the San Diego ordinance).

Effective August 17,  the policy has been updated to reflect changes based on the City’s “Implementing Ordinance” (IO) that goes into effect September 2, 2016.

The policy is optional if other written notice regarding the employer's requirements under the ordinance is provided to employees; however, for consistency with other paid sick leave laws which require written notice to employees, we strongly recommend including it in the handbook.
