NEW: Santa Monica Paid Sick Leave

This new policy, effective January 1, 2017, has been drafted to comply with California law in addition to the Santa Monica ordinance. This handbook policy is optional, however, for consistency with other paid sick leave laws which require written notice to employees, we strongly recommend including it in the Handbook. The policy covers eligible employees who, in a particular week, perform at least two (2) hours of work per week in the City of Santa Monica.
