Introduction 

We are pleased to partner with you in building your Company’s handbook.   Creating an employee handbook helps you comply with federal, state and local laws and is part of our broader commitment to help clients achieve their compliance goals.  This document provides Frequently Asked Questions during the handbook creation process. 

What will I need before I start my handbook? 

You will need any existing policy or procedural material in order to incorporate into your handbook. (Example: Welcome Statement, Values, Holidays, Vacation, Sick Leave, Paid Time off.)  You can always reach us at 1-866-400-6011 or totalsource.ssc@adp.com

How long will my handbook take to finish? 

The whole process may take up to two (2) hours depending on modifications and availability. 

Can I exit the handbook tool and save my work for later? 

Yes, the handbook tool will continue saving your work as you go. Your username and password will allow you to proceed where you left off. 

What happens after I publish? 

Your handbook becomes complete and you may share with employees for review and acknowledgement. You will have the ability to publish the final handbook at any time on My TotalSource by notifying your handbook specialist at totalsource.ssc@adp.com.

Does ADP review my handbook prior to publishing? 

Yes. You may choose to have an ADP Handbook Specialist review your handbook for compliancy purposes prior to publishing. Your Handbook Specialist will alert you once your handbook has been published.

How often should I revisit/republish my handbook? 

With the handbook tool, ADP recommends revisiting and republishing your handbook every 6-12 months to remain compliant with new federal and state ordinances.
